Artist Presentation
I am Nasreddine Mekki, a contemporary painter based in Barcelona.
My artist name, Cresus, is a familial and spiritual tribute—a living link between faith, memory, and inner light.
A graduate of the Beaux-Arts in Oran, my path has been shaped by exhibitions in Algeria, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, and the United States.
Today, Barcelona is my new artistic anchor.

Artistic Approach
My work explores memory, loss, and resilience through a gestural abstract language.
Following the loss of my twin brother, my paintings have become a space where grief is transformed into light.
I primarily work with mixed media on canvas:
layered materials,
deep textures,
spontaneous gestures.
Each painting is a suspended fragment of the soul, poised between absence and rebirth.
